Meet tia.

Hey y’all! My name is Tia but most know me as the Half Hippie + Half Hood Chick. I’m a life enthusiast and curate spaces that feel like home. I am an artist, author, creator, and cultivator of community.

I’ve mastered the balance of two worlds that often seem opposite, but in me, they coexist. On one side, I’m rooted in the earth: a master urban gardener and farmer who believes in healing through food, herbs, and sustainable living. On the other, I carry the hustle, rhythm, and raw edge of the hood: resilient, unapologetic, and always pushing forward with strength and style.

My work reflects both energies. I teach people how to grow their Personal gardens, create designs for community gardens, teach the inner city children about sustainability, tackle poverty palates, create programs with a focus on growing your own food and sustaining concrete urban gardens, while also

currently building a 1 acre farm on my 5 acres of land. My goal is simple: feed people’s bodies and souls, but I also honor the culture I come from, where laughter, music, and storytelling keep us alive just as much as food does. My life is dedicated to tackling food injustice, re-imagining what it means to live sustainably in the city, and teaching others how to overcome poverty palates.

Being Half Hippie + Half Hood is more than a label, it’s my lifestyle, my voice, and my gift. It’s proof that you don’t have to choose one way of being; you can walk barefoot in the garden in the morning, then lace up your kicks or strap up your heels and step into the city by afternoon. I embody both, and through my work, I show others how they can, too.
